What Is Clear Tech?

Clear Tech is a full-time virtual education option for Texas students in Grades K-9 (2026-2027 school year) delivered through: 

  • Enrollment in Clear Creek ISD 

  • Asynchronous, rigorous online coursework from Texas Tech K-12 

  • In-person support and enrichment opportunities through CCISD 

A schedule-friendly option designed for flexibility without sacrificing quality 

Students complete high-quality virtual coursework at home while remaining connected to a public school district that offers community, activities, and college/career planning resources.

Who Is Clear Tech Ideal For? 

Clear Tech was designed to meet the needs of families who require flexibility without sacrificing academic rigor.

Academic Experience Through Texas Tech K-12 

Texas Tech K-12 is a division of Texas Tech University and is recognized nationally and internationally for academic excellence. 

Students receive: 

  • Asynchronous, self-paced coursework 

  • Texas-certified educators 

  • Courses aligned to Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) 

  • Preparation for STAAR and End of Course (EOC) assessments 

  • NCAA-approved high school courses 

  • A fully accredited public school curriculum 

Students experience academic rigor equivalent to traditional public school programming while learning in a flexible environment.

Open to students entering Grades K-9 for the 2026-2027 school year. Additional high school grades will be added as the inaugural 9th-grade cohort progresses. A final decision regarding K-2 enrollment will be based on parent interest.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes. Clear Tech is a public school option available at no cost to Texas families.

  • The academic coursework is virtual and asynchronous.

    Students will also have access to Clear Creek ISD in person support system whether it be technical assistance, counseling support, or academic guidance. 

    In-person attendance is required for state mandated tests. 

  • Yes. The program follows the CCISD academic calendar; however, because the program is asynchronous, students may choose to work through district breaks — such as Winter and Spring Break — if they wish.

  • Regular attendance is expected and will be monitored. Consistent participation helps ensure engagement, accountability, and overall success.

  • Students with disabilities can participate. The support available to them is determined by the ARD/504 committee and the Clear Tech counselor to ensure the virtual platform can implement the student’s IEP/504 with fidelity and provide FAPE in the least restrictive environment. CCISD will work with the committee and TTU K‑12 teachers to identify and deliver required accommodations, monitor progress, schedule necessary in‑person assessments (e.g., STAAR), and arrange related services as appropriate. Specific services and implementation details will be confirmed during the counselor/ARD/504 meetings.

  • Yes. Clear Tech students may participate in extracurricular UIL activities such as athletics, band, choir, orchestra, and more. For sports, intermediate students are assigned to Creekside Intermediate and high school students to Clear Brook High School.

    State/UIL guidance under SB 569 is still being finalized, so some details are pending. CCISD will share updates on cleartech.ccisd.net when they become available.

  • Yes. Students are required to participate in state assessments as required by Texas law.

  • Yes. High school coursework is NCAA-approved.

  • The program is launching as a cohort model beginning with 9th grade for the 2026-2027 academic year and will add one high school grade each subsequent year (10th in 2027-2028, 11th in 2028-2029, 12th in 2029-2030). The first graduating class will be in 2030.

  • No. Enrollment is not rolling. Applications must be submitted by May 15, 2026 for the 2026-2027 academic year beginning in Fall 2026. There will be a limited window for second-semester enrollments later.

  • Transferring back is possible but subject to CCISD enrollment windows and semester boundaries. Clear Tech enrollment is not rolling mid-semester, so moving back midterm may be limited. Contact the Clear Tech counselor and your home campus registrar to discuss timelines and the process for returning to on-campus instruction.
